Union Members Called Upon to Contribute to Haiti Relief

Unions across the country are being called upon to offer our assistance to our Haitian brothers and sister during their time of need, and the AFL-CIO and Union Plus have offered several options for those looking to contribute.

The Solidarity Center’s Earthquake Relief for Haitian Workers Fund allows union members to maximize their relief efforts, as funds will not only provide assistiance directly to Haitian workers and their families, but Union Plus will match, dollar-for-dollar, all contributions made to the fund, which can be accessed at UnionPlus.org/Haiti.

Additionally, AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka, AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer Liz Shuler and AFL-CIO Executive Vice President Arlene Holt Baker released a joint statement in which they called upon to grant humanitarian relief in the form of Temporary Protected Status to Haitians who are in the United States.

Refer to the attachments below for the AFL-CIO's full statement and additional information on ways to show your support and make a donation.
